Juan 7-dong Residents Gather at Rest Area for Early-Morning Exercise, Sharing Health and ‘Bursting Energy’

In the early morning, residents gathered at a neighborhood rest area loosen up together to start their day. The Juan 7-dong Residents’ Self-Governance Council (Chair Song Jeong-heum) in Michuhol-gu said it is running a pilot program called ‘Bursting Energy Exercise’ at the Green Rest Area (1342-8 Juan-dong) through September to promote residents’ health and boost communication among neighbors.

The ‘Bursting Energy Exercise’ is a project adopted as an agenda item at the 2025 residents’ general assembly. It was arranged with the aim of helping residents build healthy lifestyle habits through stretches and exercises they can easily follow along with, and further of invigorating the village community.

The program runs from July through September, for one hour starting at 7:20 a.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays. Any resident may take part regardless of age or gender, and participants naturally exchange greetings and communicate with their neighbors while exercising together.

Chair Song Jeong-heum said, “We pushed forward with this project to create a venue for communication where residents can exercise and interact together at the rest area,” adding, “We will continue to expand residents’ self-governance projects that add vitality to residents’ daily lives and draw out communication and participation.”
