Yeonsu-gu Youth Football Club Produces First U-19 National Team Player Since Its Founding

A youth football club run by the Yeonsu-gu District Office has produced a member of the under-19 (U-19) national football team for the first time since it was founded. Yeonsu-gu District (Mayor Lee Jae-ho) announced the news on the 23rd, saying its efforts to develop youth sports in the area have paid off.

The newly selected national team player came through the Yeonsu-gu Office youth football club. It is the first time a player from the club has made a national team since it was formed. The selection of a player who developed through local public sports infrastructure shows that the district’s youth sports development system is producing real results.

The Yeonsu-gu Office youth football club is a sports facility under the district office that has provided local young people with structured football training and opportunities to develop. The national team selection has raised expectations for a broader local football base and for the development of more top players.

Yeonsu-gu plans to keep supporting youth sports development. The achievement is seen as a leading example of the district’s sports policy at work and is expected to help future discussions on expanding local youth sports infrastructure.
