Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center Tenant Agencies Take ‘Green Steps’ Together…Plogging Through the Park

Posted Article No. 50861

The Incheon Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation (Chairman Son Yeong-sik) has launched an environmental cleanup effort together with several agencies based at the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center. The corporation said on the 26th that it had carried out the ‘Green Steps Campaign,’ an ESG initiative, jointly with the tenant agencies on the 23rd.

The campaign was organized to raise environmental protection awareness in the local community and to broaden a culture of practicing carbon neutrality in everyday life. Rather than being limited to a single agency, the event gained added significance as staff from the various agencies based at the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center took part together.

On the day, participants walked through the park area inside the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center and carried out a ‘plogging’ activity, picking up household trash and various waste discarded here and there. Plogging, which combines walking exercise with picking up litter, is a method that allows participants to attend to both environmental cleanup and health at the same time, and the participants helped create a clean park while also contributing to improving the local environment.

This campaign holds particular significance in that it was pursued as part of ‘practicing ESG management in everyday life.’ It became an occasion for the tenant agencies to work together, share the importance of environmental protection, and build a shared understanding toward creating a sustainable local community.

The corporation plans to continue working with the tenant agencies of the Yeongjong Complex Cultural Center going forward to steadily carry out a range of ESG programs, including environmental cleanup activities and resource recycling campaigns.

A corporation official said, “It became an even more meaningful occasion as the tenant agencies came together with one purpose to take part in local environmental protection activities,” adding, “We will continue to lead the way in creating a clean and pleasant living environment through ESG activities carried out together with the local community.”
