The Incheon Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center will begin recruiting trainees on August 18 for its 2026 Second-Half Care Farming Consumer Education, a program that lets citizens experience the healing value of agriculture firsthand. Running for the second time this year following the first-half session, the course is designed to help participants experience physical and emotional stabilization through hands-on activities linked to local care farms.

The Incheon Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will begin recruiting trainees for the 2026 Second-Half Care Farming Consumer Education on August 18.

This program is being run for the second time this year, following the first-half session. It was arranged to raise and spread public awareness of care farming, allowing participants to directly experience a variety of care farming activities at local care farms and feel their physical and emotional stabilizing effects.

The education combines basic theory lectures with hands-on activities linked to local care farms. Participating citizens take part directly in care farming programs that make use of each farm’s signature resources, such as food and forest resources, so they can experience the positive effects that care farming provides.

The course runs a total of eight sessions from September 7 to November 2, with 40 trainees to be recruited. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Incheon City integrated reservation website, beginning with priority recruitment on August 18 and running through the 24th.

Care farming refers to activities that use agricultural and rural resources to help restore public health and provide emotional stability. As interest in mental health and quality of life has grown recently, it has drawn attention as a healing approach accessible in everyday life. Because this program takes place at community farms rather than specialized facilities and is open to anyone, it is expected to offer citizens a chance to experience the healing value of agriculture close to home.

Lee Hee-jung, director of the city’s Agricultural Technology Center, said, ‘The second-half care farming consumer education will be a good opportunity for citizens to experience the diverse values of agriculture in their daily lives,’ adding, ‘We will continue to expand education that highlights the new values of agriculture, including care farming.’

For more details about the program, refer to the education and events board on the Incheon City Agricultural Technology Center website, or contact the Care Farming Team (☎032-440-6947).
